LMSR Hammerwich Sign on Ebay

Posted by southstaffsrail on September 25, 2014 at 11:55 AM

A genuine London Midland Scottish Station Sign from Hammerwich Station went on eBay earlier last week.

The name sign from Hammerwich Station was found buried amongst other rubbish when the old Lichfield City Sidings was being cleared to make way for the future housing development. The rubbish was transferred to a adjacent scrap yard, when the eBay seller who worked at Lichfield City, claimed it.

The name sign would have been on the platform of Hammerwich between 1923 - 1947, during the LMS period.

Amazing when you think that the Pelsall totem went for 1100.00.
