Hammerwich - January 2014 Sign In or Register to add photos

BACK ON TRACK... Welcome to the first set of photographs from the former Hammerwich Station of 2014, and since the summer of 2013. We aim to record any changes that appear from around the site, theses being man made or seasonal changes. Since we started the monthly photo albums, it has been apparent that there has been a lot of change since we started back in 2010. One huge change is how fast nature has taken hold along the line, with trees and scrub increasing every year. Anyway, back to January 2014; We popped down to Hammerwich on the morning of the 20th, a very frosty start and a bright low sun, made taking photos rather interesting. Not many changes since the summer, but there are signs that the line is being well used by dog walkers, with a defind line along the tracks. Just past the old station house (on route towards Lichfield), one of the drainage/ signalling pits has been exposed, but someone has managed to lift up some sleepers to put over the hole. The fence on the farm side is still in-tacked, but on Station Road, the fence is still down.
